Coming to Ava

Over the past several months, we have been working in the background to deliver a variety of improvements to Ava. These changes are set to be released in mid-August.

To give users time to become familiar with the changes before they arrive, we’re sharing an early preview of what’s ahead!

Support for the release

At the time of release, training materials will be provided alongside the major features, with additional articles and guidance available through Ava Academy.

Review activity and Sign-Off

  • Enhanced audit log to review actions, including who accessed a patient chart and when.
  • See changes made to Patient History entries over time.
  • See which users contributed to a Clinical Note.
  • Review Sign-Off history for clinical notes and tasks.
  • Add and review chart updates while working in a clinical note.

Patient Chart tools

  • New ability to select which sections appear in the Patient Chart and how they are arranged.
  • Create and view a patient's chart number.
  • New button to quickly print a patient's Cumulative Patient Profile from the demographics dropdown.

Expanded Patient Demographics

  • New fields for Name Prefix, Official Language, Preferred Spoken Language and Demographic Notes.
  • Added support for a separate Mailing Address.
  • Expanded Emergency Contact records, including multiple contacts, Relationship, Contact Categories and Primary status.

Medication and prescription updates

  • New actions to place Medications on hold.
  • Added long-term and short-term options, a No Substitutions setting and additional prescription fields.
  • Open additional prescription fields when more detail is needed.
  • New ability to discontinue multiple medications at once.
  • New Medication History views for Previous Prescriptions and Dose Changes.

Vaccine records

  • Added updated vaccine details in a refreshed side panel.
  • New Historical, Vaccine, Serology and Refused record Categories.

Scheduling

  • Mark an Appointment as Critical while booking.
  • Search for the next available appointment by Type, Date, Time or Day.
  • Print appointment lists Chronologically or Alphabetically.

New fields across patient histories

  • New Date, Status, Reaction, Treatment, Life Stage and note fields across Allergies, Social History, Family History and Health Profiles.
  • New audit history for supported entries, allowing earlier versions to be reviewed.

Tasks, Labs and Files

  • New unread indicators and task Sign-Off history.
  • New Abnormal-result filtering, table views and manual lab entry with graphing.
  • Added support for importing PNG images and TXT files.
